The project for the replacement of the CBD Amenities is in progress

Council has successfully secured funding through the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure fund to complete important and long overdue upgrades to the CBD Amenities located in Henty Street, Portland.

Council undertook consultation seeking input from community for ideas and considerations to develop concept designs for the redevelopment of the amenities.

We received a total of 53 submissions, and as a result the following elements have been included in the design:

  • Safety was the highest priority of the community as the existing facilities do not give a perception of safety when using them
  • Improved accessibility providing safe and easy use for community members of all abilities
  • Ease of cleaning to be able to provide well-maintained facilities
  • Hard wearing fit out and anti-vandal where possible

    Opening Hours of the CBD Amenities

    As part of the consultation for the CBD Amenities project, we are seeking feedback on the opening and closing hours to help us understand if the current hours meet the needs of the community and tourists. The current opening hours are 7am to 9pm daily (7 days).

    Feedback will help inform a report to Council for consideration of the future operational hours of the amenities.
