Are you part of ‘our Portland CBD traffic’ including vehicles, wheelchairs, pedestrians, cyclists, e-mobility, e-bikes and or e-scooters?

This is your opportunity to help make our traffic network safer in the Portland CBD/ Medical precinct.

TAC has provided Glenelg Shire Council with a grant to:

  • Review all types of traffic in the Portland CBD / Medical Precinct
  • To design safety improvements including safer roads/ paths/ linkages/ intersections

Council is seeking your input on all traffic concerns and experiences to enable the possibility for potential consideration to form part of the Local Area Traffic Management (LATM) scheme.

Your input will be utilised to develop a safer traffic / pedestrian / cycling / e-mobility culture.

Council will use your input to develop outcomes and possibly functional designs in a prioritised framework that can inform and support future grant applications and or works.

    13 September update

    Thank you to those who attended the first round of face to face consultation sessions on 5 and 6 of September 2024.


    If you were unable to attend, it's not too late to Have Your Say. The online survey is still open until Monday 16 September. Following the conclusion of the consultation period, we will collate all of your submissions and develop a draft report of the proposed improvements.

    There will be further opportunities to review the survey outcomes and draft report following Councillor Election period.


    Public consultation sessions for the Portland CBD/Medical Precinct Traffic Safety project will take place in the Portland Library later this week. The sessions with consultants and Council's Chief Design Engineer will be held in the large meeting room from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Thursday and 8am to 10:30am on Friday.

    If you can't make it to one of these sessions there will be more sessions held later there is no need to make an appointment just drop in anytime between the times above.
