Signing of the Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Agreement 2011-2020

Public feedback is sought on the Draft Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Plan 2017-2020 - a four year plan - aimed at improving the lives, outcomes and opportunities of Aboriginal people in our municipality through building on our past, our shared future and our continued journey together by encouraging and supporting leadership, change and empowerment of our current and future leaders.

This is the third plan in accordance with the Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Agreement 2011-2020 developed in partnership with Winda-Mara Aboriginal Corporation, Dhauwurd-Wurrung Elderly and Community Health Service, Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and the Glenelg Shire Council. It builds on past agreements in order to promote Recognition, Healing and Reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal residence of the Glenelg Shire.

The Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Plan 2017-2020 lists specific agreed tasks, timeframes and allocates responsibilities for the completion and reporting on the work.

Council invites comments on the Draft Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Plan 2017-2020 which is available on public exhibition for a three (3) week period from Monday 29 August 2016.

The Draft Plan identifies the key themes to identify goals, strategies and actions that are relevant, sustainable and achievable for the next four years as per the Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Agreement 2011-2020.

Community and stakeholders are encouraged to prepare a written submission for Council's consideration. Submissions close at 4pm on Friday 16 September 2016. The Draft Glenelg Aboriginal Partnership Plan 2017-2020 will be available via:
