Council is set to deliver an unprecedented number of community infrastructure projects across the shire this financial year.

Project Funding

A number of these projects have been assisted through Federal and State Government funding including the Federal Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications (under the Local Roads & Community Infrastructure Program) State Government’s Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning; Department of Transport; Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (Economic Stimulus package). Funding is aimed to drive the regions recovery by supporting jobs and the resilience of local economies to help communities bounce back from the COVID-19 pandemic

Project Selection

Projects have been selected based on the outcomes of key Strategic work and Plans undertaken over the past few years including the Open Space Strategy, Tracks and Trails Strategy, Recreation Plan and various master plans. Other significant factors include; meeting funding requirements and timelines with many projects to be completed by 30 June 2021.
