The multi-million transformation of one of the Glenelg Shire’s most loved tourist attractions has taken shape. Stage 1 and 2 are now complete with the final stage about to commence that will see a refurbishment of the existing amenities building. Have your say on the refurbishment of the Cape Bridgewater Amenities refurbishment.
The Cape Bridgewater Infrastructure Masterplan was developed in 2014, following extensive community consultation and has been funded as part of the Federal Governments Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program (LRCI). A recent review of the LRCI project delivery program was undertaken with funding and scope changes proposed to the Cape Bridgewater Amenities Upgrade. At the February 2025 Council Meeting, Council Endorsed a project funding and scope variation of the Cape Bridgewater Amenities Upgrade to provide for a facility refurbishment.
Council undertook consultation the community in early 2025 to understand what areas to prioritise as part of the refurbishment of the existing building.
Including some of the following areas:
Shower cubicles
Hot water
Painting
New fixtures and fittings
Changing cubicles
Replacement of temporary retaining fence
Relocation of outdoor shower
