Launched in 2024, the Glenelg Shire Community Awards helps celebrates the outstanding contributions and achievements of members of our community.
Help Council recognise and award our local heroes and community groups for their commitment to making our Shire a great place to live.
Categories for this years awards are:
Citizen of the Year
Senior Citizen of the Year
Youth Citizen of the Year
Community Group of the Year
Volunteer of the Year
Diversity and Inclusion Award
Arts and Culture Award
Outstanding Achievement Award
Contribution can be in any field including education, health, fundraising, charitable and voluntary services, sport, arts, environment, or any other area that contributes to the advancement and well-being of a community. Full eligibility criteria is available in the survey.
Nominations can be submitted online via the nomination form below.
Alternatively, hard copies are available from the Portland, Heywood and Casterton Customer Service Offices, Portland Library and Nelson Visitor Information Centre.
Awards recipients will be contacted and officially presented with the awards at a ceremony later this year.
