Works are about to commence!
We’re thrilled to share that Phase 1 of the highly anticipated upgrade to the Casterton Railway Precinct is set to begin next week!
This first stage will kick off a series of improvements designed to make the precinct more accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone. Works will include:
New all-abilities accessible pathway from Wathen Street
Replacement of picnic tables and bollards
Repainting of the rotunda and modified seating to support wheelchair access
Improved drainage infrastructure
What’s next?
Once Phase 1 is complete, we’ll move into Phase 2, the installation of brand-new inclusive playground equipment! This exciting addition was shaped by community input, with local voices helping to choose the features that will bring fun, accessibility, and connection to families..
We anticipate all works will be finished by December 2025, weather permitting.
Temporary Site Closure
During Phase 1, the site will be closed to the public, including all walking paths. For your safety, please avoid the area while works are underway.
Council is proud to deliver upgraded community spaces that reflect the needs and aspirations of our residents. Thank you for your patience and support as we bring this beloved precinct to life!
