Council supports community members and visitors to our Shire with disabilities by building a community that is accessible and inclusive to people of all abilities.

One of the ways we are doing this is by including playground communication boards to our accessible playgrounds.

The first Playground Communication Board has been installed in the Pulambeet All Abilities Play Space located on the Portland Foreshore.

The Boardmaker Picture Communication System (PCS) symbols have been used on the communication board. These symbols are widely used and recognised by people and children who use symbols to communicate.
