Consultation has concluded
The Island Park Masterplan has been adopted - thank you to all those who took the time to shape this important document!
A Master Plan has been developed for Island Park in Casterton, outlining a 10 to 15-year vision for improving and developing this important community space. The plan is designed to guide future upgrades and support funding applications, and provide a clear direction to help with long-term planning and day-to-day operations at the park.
Island Park serves as a hub for both formal and informal recreation in Casterton. The draft plan recognises the park's role in supporting sports competitions, training, community events, and casual recreation, and considers how spaces can be shared for the benefit of all users, aiming to enhance social connection and access across the community. It also highlights the need to prepare for environmental challenges, particularly flooding, which has impacted the park in the past.
The Plan has been developed in collaboration with local clubs, stakeholders, and residents in Casterton, and now the wider community are now invited to review the draft and share your thoughts on the recommended actions, project priorities, and the layout of future upgrades.
