Community consultation has now concluded.

The draft Asset Plan 2025-2035 was placed out for a period of public exhibition, and we invited all community members to review the document and share their feedback. This essential strategic document outlines how Council will manage its infrastructure and other community assets over the next ten years to ensure they continue to meet local needs, support service delivery.

The purpose of the Asset Plan is to provide a clear and transparent framework for how Council plans, maintains, renews, and invests in assets, including roads, buildings, parks, and other essential infrastructure. Developed using insights from the development of the Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029, the Plan reflects our shared priorities and long-term vision for a sustainable, connected, and thriving Glenelg.

Importantly, the Plan ensures that asset management decisions are aligned with strategic and financial planning, enabling Council to make informed, responsible choices that balance service levels, community expectations, and available resources. It also outlines key risks, performance targets, and compliance requirements providing a foundation for both risk management and accountability.

Through this Plan, Council aims to deliver value to the community by using assets efficiently and sustainably, while planning for future demand and maintaining essential services. It also enhances transparency and encourages public input by clearly communicating how assets are managed, maintained, and renewed over time.

    The Draft Plan was presented to Council at the October Council meeting and adopted.

    Submissions received during the period of public exhibition were consistent with feedback obtained through earlier Council and Wellbeing Plan 2025-2029 consultation where, in general, there was a clear call for improved maintenance and upgrading of existing community assets, infrastructure and facilities to meet current needs and standards. There was also a strong demand for equitable access to infrastructure and services across smaller towns and rural communities.
