Federal Government JobKeeper payments

The JobKeeper payment helps businesses significantly impacted by the Coronavirus cover the costs of their employees’ wages, so more Australians can retain their jobs and continue to earn an income.

Federal Government Apprentice and Trainees support

To support small businesses to retain their apprentices and trainees, eligible businesses can apply for a wage subsidy of 50 per cent of the apprentice’s, or trainee’s wage paid during the 9 months from 1 January 2020 to 30 September 2020.

State Government Business Support Fund grants

The Victorian Government has launched the Business Support Fund to support small businesses in the sectors hit hardest by coronavirus (COVID-19) so they can survive and keep people in work.

Business Victoria Coronavirus (COVID-19) financial assistance finder

A range of assistance is available from the Australian and Victorian governments and other entities to support businesses impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19). Business Victoria’s finder tool will ask a series of questions to help you find the assistance available to you based on your circumstances.

Victorian Chamber of Commerce

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is offering 12 months free membership for businesses. The Chamber also hosts free weekly webinars, discussing what small businesses can be doing in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

Business Resilience Program

The Business Resilience program from the Melbourne Innovation Centre is specifically designed to assist small businesses suffering the impacts of the COVID-19 crisis. Support includes free access to virtual mentoring, online workshops, and resources.

Upskill My Business

The State Government has launched a new website in partnership with key industry groups and top education providers. The website (Upskill My Business) offers businesses top online short courses, online training events and resources from the state’s top education providers and industry expert so they can plan for a stronger future and take advantage of new opportunities.

Online networking sessions

Marketing Entourage are currently running free online networking sessions every Wednesday at 12 noon. The webinar will share tips, tricks, pivots and successes in these interesting times.

Business Training Hub

Great Ocean Road Regional has released a free Business Training Hub for all Glenelg Shire businesses. The hub is updated with free digital upskilling courses, including Facebooking advertising and website development.
