Why Henty Park?
Council considered a range of sites including, Nelson Park, Alexandra Park, the foreshore, Fawthrop Lagoon and Soccer Ground. Issues relating to leaseholders, user groups, overlays, proximity of major highways and residences, as well as future green open space considerations, were all taken into account before Henty Park was selected as the most appropriate site.

Who is going to pick-up the dog poo?
You. As a user of the dog park owners will be required to maintain the park by collecting their dog’s faeces and depositing it in the provided bins. Dog bags will be provided and monitoring of the parks will be undertaken to ensure people are abiding by the rules.
Will there be parking?
Yes. Specific parking for dog park owners will be provided and signage will be installed to direct people where to park if they come by car.
