By registering for and attending a workshop you agree to the following:

To encourage and promote open discussion and exchange of information and ideas between the community and Council, the workshops will not be audio or video recorded.

These workshops will adopt a zero tolerance for aggressive and/or inappropriate behaviours in alignment with Council’s Customer Service Charter Community. These workshops are designed to compliment other engagement methods and approaches utilised by Council. You may therefore be encouraged to utilise other more appropriate avenues to seek information or bring attention to matters of concern.


Council reserves its right to not discuss matters that may fall into the following categories, that is, information or topics that:

• Relate to a matter beyond the power or duties of Council.

• Are defamatory, indecent, offensive, abusive, irrelevant, trivial, or objectionable in language or nature.

• Are confidential in nature or of legal significance.

• Relate to personnel matters.

• Relate to the personal hardship of any resident or ratepayer.

• Breach legislation or the local law.

Privacy Collection Notice

The Glenelg Shire Council may collect your personal information for the purpose of providing an opportunity to participate in community engagement and consultation. 

Council may share a copy of your submission responses between Council departments and to Glenelg Shire Councillors as required in the performance of the functions of Council.  

At times, the project may involve a copy of your submission being publicly available at a Council meeting, which is a public event.  When Your Say Glenelg responses are included in a Council Meeting Agenda, all personal information will be de-identified. 

At times, the Council may be legally required to disclose personal information, for instance to the police, or as required by law. 

If you choose not to provide the required information, we may not be able to use your response in our community engagement management . We accept anonymous responses, however we will be unable to provide feedback, responses or an outcome to you without your contact details. 

Council will ensure that your personal information is held securely in accordance with the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).  If you have any questions about how your personal information will be handled or would like to gain access to your personal information, you can contact the Glenelg Shire’s Privacy Officer on 1300 453 635 or enquiry@glenelg.vic.gov.au.
