Works update - 24 December 2025
We are pleased to share that the long-awaited new public amenities are almost complete. These new amenities include ambulant and accessible toilets, toilets for children, baby change tables and showers.
The project is currently in its final stages, with commissioning and handover expected early January 2026.
Access during the holiday period
The temporary toilets will remain operational throughout the Christmas and New Year holidays. If community members prefer not to use the temporary toilets or require showers, the following nearby facilities are available:
95 Bentinck Street, Portland – Corner of Bentinck Street and Julia Street
Lee Breakwater Road Portland
Portland Foreshore, All Abilities Playground (disabled access)
North Boat Ramp Amenities (disabled access)
Nuns Beach Toilets (disabled access and showers)
13 Glenelg Street, Friendly Society Reserve
This milestone brings us another step closer to delivering a modern and accessible facility for our community.
Please note that the fit‑out of the Changing Places facility, artwork for the feature wall, landscaping and the provision of seating remain subject to additional funding.
