Community Funding and Support Policy

Council recognises the important role community groups play in supporting social connection, wellbeing, and local life across the Shire. Funding community, cultural and recreational activities, events and services enables individuals and groups to work in partnership with Council in meeting community needs.

Council regularly reviews its policies to ensure they remain clear, fair and responsive to community needs.

Council undertook community engagement in April 2026 seeking feedback on the updated Community Funding and Support Policy to ensure that it reflects community needs and priorities. The updates aim to improve clarity, strengthen inclusion and diversity, and better support local community outcomes.

The updated policy was presented and endorsed at the May Council meeting, and is now in place for all future funding and support from Council.

Thank you to community members who joined the conversation and helped shape the new policy. You can read the update policy and more information about grants on our Council Website by clicking here
