Project Updates

Following the consultation period, Council officers have undertaken and inspection and assessment, including consideration of matters raised in submissions, and have decided to provide approval, under delegation, to the request for consent to allow Browning Street to be used for Class 2 heavy vehicles (larger than semi-trailers), subject to the following conditions:

a) Heavy vehicle access between 7am and 7pm Monday to Friday for standard maintenance, and 9am to 3pm Saturday and Sunday for emergency repairs only. (This complies with the EPA noise in residential areas guidelines).

b) 50 km/h speed limit between Learmonth St and Garden St

c) No access permitted south of 167 Browning St. (i.e. no access to Garden St). Non – gazettal items

d) Signs will be installed requesting no use of engine brakes.

e) Council to monitor traffic for six months to determine compliance levels with operation times.

Council, as road manager, will provide its response with consent
